Today was a busy day. The Premier of Alberta was in town for a trade
mission and they pulled out all the stops and held was a massive, fancy
reception for him. Not quite sure what the protesters were there for,
but I'm sure that it wasn't a coincidence. Things are getting back
under way in DC.
Embarrassingly, I don't think that I would
recognize the Premier if I saw him. You'd think that there are only
thirteen Premiers, so it isn't that hard. It was sort of like the time
when I was going to a press conference for the General of the army/
head of the mission in Afghanistan. I ended up talking to the head of
the military at the Embassy and some other military guy. The three
stars should have given it away, it was the General. We chatted a bit
and then he went and gave the pressconference . Nicest guy every and
not below talking to lowly interns, even though he is like one of the
top people in the Canadian military and has a degree from Harvard.
