hockey....again

So, I have reaffirmed my belief that DC is not a hockey town. On Friday I braved the elements (DC's first real rain in about 6 weeks) to go out and support the Vancouver Cannucks as they beat the Washington Capitals.

We got free vouchers from that last game that we attended and ended up getting the nosebleed seats with a full view of the rink. The arena was half empty and the Canadians in the crowd made almost as much noise as the Captials fans combined. There was a surprisingly large contingent of Canadians there, easily identifiable by the random assortment of jerseys for Team Canada and Canadian hockey teams that they were wearing.

The Cannucks won. It was really good fun. I'm developing quite a passion for hockey. Funny that it took moving to a foreign country to bring out the real Canadian in me. It beats football any day.
